LODGE THREE WAYS

Masque Thing is a cabinet of curious qualities, figural legs, and stretchy skin

A Lodge Three Ways is a mountain retreat for a client who determined Vermont to be the most climate resilient region in the continental U.S. Architectural novelty no longer dwells in the fantasies of tomorrow, but in the extreme weirdness of today. Designed as a vernacular alpine village, this home conceals the complex demands made upon the American estate in today’s environment of crisis and well-being. A single lodge is presented in three ways: a pleasure palace, an eco-bunker, and short-term rental units. In managing today’s great uncertainties, one’s dominion swells out of order. Passive income, food production, resiliency, and pleasure all multiply in ways to provide a new spectacular way of living. Wake up in a greenhouse, listen to an artist lecture in a test kitchen, or host a DJ session in your short term stay, either way, this isn’t Dolly Pardon’s Tenessee Mountain Home
