Max Kuo is a founding partner of ALLTHATISSOLID and Design Critic at Harvard Graduate School of Design. His recent writings and designs speculate on the destabilization of representation and meaning in digital architecture and seeks out anomalous and misfit objects generated within parametric systems. Max's work has been featured in such publications as Bracket (Actar), Thresholds (MIT), and Mas Context. He has lectured at various universities in Seoul including Soongsil, Konkuk, and Korea University, and has worked in the offices of Reiser + Umemoto and Fernando Romero Enterprise.
Prior to entering the field of architecture, Max has participated in artist residency programs at the Whitney Museum, Independent Studies Program (NYC) and Red Gate Gallery Residency (Beijing). His art practice explores the socio-political behaviors characteristic of uneven developments in the metropolis. These investigations have resulted in such works as collaborations with Beijing punk bands, wandering hypnosis, and other urban critical fictions.
